Brewing

Dan loves to brew beer. I thought I would also love to brew. As it turns out, I lose interest in the 5+ hour long process really quick. By now, we have come to the realization that brewing is best done when I am out of town :)

We made an exception this past weekend. My girlfriend Hillary and her man-friend joined us. I must say, it was pretty fun. We stopped midway for a mexican food/margarita lunch. I think that is a necessary step in the process.

Just a few more weeks until the India Amber Ale (IAA) is ready, but fair warning, we put a ton of hops in the there!

Mt. Sanitas and Farmer's Market

Today was going to be a stay and home and get school work done day, but after breakfast our friends Alex and Courtney called and wanted to see if we wanted to join them for a hike and lunch and the farmer's market. Uh...of course! The high was 80 degrees! It was wonderful. We met them at the trailhead of Mt. Sanitas. Three doggies (Rylee, Moose, and Jack) and we were off. I really love that hike and am kind of embarrassed that after living in Boulder for 6 years, I only first hiked the trail last year.

The farmer's market was awesome..first one of the season and it was worth the wait. There isn't really much produce yet for purchase, but the vendors for lunch are always delicious. Dan and I had our go to lunch....fresh squeezed lemonade and dumplings from Sister's Pantry. YUM!

Running

So my office has recently become healthy. As much as I would like to attribute it to my crazy calorie counting, I think these guys just came to the realization that it feels damn good to workout and eat healthy. In honor of everyone's new found healthiness, we are running a 5K.


And I was so inspired that I asked my girlfriend Jami who is an all-star athlete and completes triathalons to run another one with me.


So now I just need to start running!

South Africa

I have wanted to go to south African since i was sixteen. I am not sure what the motivation was, but i have always wanted to go. In college, i had several friends study abroad there and i was always super jealous. Well our time has come. Dan and I started saving Aug 2009 and just today bought air fare! I can't believe that we are actually going. It will only be for two weeks, but that is about all of the vacation that we get in a year. We leave Dec. 26th and fly in and out of cape town. A safari is definitely in store...maybe Victoria falls...oh and a train ride or two. Can't wait!

Patio Furniture

Okay, we are officially old and boring suburbanites. Ever since we moved into our house I have wanted patio furniture. I love sitting outside and having friends over and enjoying the warm, summer colorado sun. So we had searched and searched for deals on patio furniture. When fall came and went, we figured craigslist would have some good stuff. Sad day. Nada. Anyway, we caved in and bought some new furniture from the great indoors. I wish that was the part that made us suburbanites, sadly, it was the fact that it arrived at 7PM on Friday night and we were home AND we proceeded to put it together.

Can't wait to have friends over to join us!

Jack Graduates from Puppy School...Valedictorian

For the last six weeks we have been taking Jack to puppy school at PetCo. Another dog was supposed to be in the class, but they were a no show. So Jack had a trainer and a trainer in training (and us) all to himself. He learned a few things and all in all, we are happy that we did the class. Now if we could just get him to stop jumping on people....

Bragging Rights

Okay so I know that I am partial, but I quite possibly have the cutest nephew in the world. My lovely sister and Craig make one good looking kiddo! Jamie sends me about a picture a day of Jax and I have been known to show anyone who will take a moment nearly every single picture I have of the little man.
